Home, where the hand, the head and the heart meet...

Growing up in Chicago in a family of artists, I was immersed in the art world from an early age. One of my fondest memories is of accompanying my mother to art galleries, then lingering in front of paintings to reflect on beautiful works of art. My interest in interior design was  borne from a natural talent for visual balance, starting with moving my parent’s furniture and rearranging my own room.

As an adult I designed and fabricated a line of jewelry as well as one-of-a-kind designer artwear. Now I often collaborate with my husband, a real estate developer, on residential projects throughout Chicago. My role as interior designer is to collaborate with the architect and contractor concerning material selections and decorative finishes.

When meeting with clients, my passion is to help them identify their own tastes and develop more confidence in their abilities to make expressive, personal, and tasteful choices. This process begins by listening intently to a client’s vision while observing and assessing the choices they have made in their current surroundings. I learn what works for them... and what doesn’t. I collaborate rather than impose my own taste, remaining flexible while introducing new ideas and a dash of inspiration.

Because the focus of my business is on re-use, recycling and “redesign,” I choose to consume as little as possible. My approach to interior design choices is more than a monetary decision; it embodies ethical environmental and emotional perspectives. Making edited choices and surrounding yourself with objects that have meaning and relevance for you is what makes your home both a sanctuary and a reflection of your individuality. My billing practices reflect my philosophy. I charge for my time while passing along my professional discount to clients whenever possible.

Interior redesign is the process of transforming a home while highlighting existing furnishings and accessories, displayed to their best advantage. When seen with fresh eyes, your own possessions, artfully arranged, are imbued with life. Whether it is for the purpose of selling your home, or simply enhancing the enjoyment of your space, your home will look and feel well balanced, individualistic and inviting.
